Local FAQ

Renovating in New York? Common questions.

Everything homeowners typically ask us before starting a project in NYC — boards, permits, timelines, and hours.

What areas of New York do you serve?+

We serve all five NYC boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island — plus select projects in Westchester and neighboring tri-state suburbs including Yonkers, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, and White Plains.

Do you handle co-op and condo board approvals in Manhattan and Brooklyn?+

Yes. We prepare full alteration agreement packages, insurance certificates, contractor riders, and architect drawings, and we coordinate directly with your managing agent and board until approval is granted.

Do you pull DOB permits for NYC renovations?+

Yes. Our team files Type 2 DOB permits, plumbing (LAA) filings, and electrical permits in-house through licensed professionals. We handle sign-offs and close-outs so nothing is left open on your property record.

Can you work in landmark or historic buildings?+

Yes. We regularly renovate pre-war co-ops, brownstones, and homes in Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) districts across Manhattan and Brooklyn, and we file LPC applications when the scope requires it.

How long does a typical NYC kitchen or bathroom renovation take?+

A standard NYC bathroom runs 4–6 weeks on site; a kitchen runs 6–10 weeks. Co-op and condo timelines add 6–12 weeks of pre-construction for board approval and DOB filings. We give you a full schedule before signing.

Do you work outside of standard building hours?+

Most NYC buildings restrict construction to weekdays 9am–5pm. We plan every schedule around your building's rules, freight elevator windows, and neighbor courtesy protocols.

Do you offer free consultations in the NYC area?+

Yes. Initial consultations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island are free. Call (917) 705-4571 or book online and we'll come measure, listen, and propose a scope.
